It appears that winter
is not yet over and according to the weatherman we could be receiving another
round of snow over the next few days. Therefore, this email is just a reminder
to all Willowbrook Farm residents about snow related requirements.
As stated below, Section
31 of the Willowbrook Farm Homeowners Association Covenants requires each
homeowner to keep their front sidewalk reasonably free of ice and snow.
Section 31. Sidewalks.
Each Owner shall install a sidewalk in the road right-of-way adjacent to his
Lot and shall maintain, repair and replace such sidewalk in accordance with the
requirements of the Municipality and the Association. Each Owner shall keep the
sidewalk reasonably free of ice, snow and debris.
In addition, The City of
Novi has a similar ordinance regarding the removal of snow
Sec. 33-688. Sidewalks to be
cleared.
The occupant of every lot or
premises adjoining any street or the owner of such lot or premises if the same
are not occupied, shall clear all ice and snow from sidewalks adjoining such
lot or premises within the time required in this section. When any snow or ice
shall cease to fall during the daylight hours, such snow or ice shall be
cleared from the sidewalks within twelve (12) hours after such cessation. When a fall of snow or ice
shall have ceased during the nighttime, it shall be cleared from the sidewalks by 6:00pm
of the following day.
In an attempt to make
sure Willowbrook Farm continues to be a safe subdivision to live in, we ask
that you adhere to the above ordinances. Failure
to comply with the above ordinances will result in a ticket from the City of
Novi as well as a fine from the Willowbrook Farm Homeowners Association.
Also,
please make sure you and your visitors do not park vehicles in the street. Parking vehicles in the street impedes street
snow removal by city snow plow trucks. Please park all vehicles in the driveway.
Finally, we have had so
much snow this year that the snow piles in front of each home has greatly reduced
the width of every street and entrance within the subdivision. Parking vehicles
in the street makes it difficult for traffic to flow in an efficient manner and
increases the likelihood your vehicles could be damaged by moving vehicles.
Also, please make sure you do not exceed the posted speed limits on subdivision
streets. Excessive speeds on snow covered streets can and will cause possible
spinouts and accidents.
Thank You For Your
Cooperation… And Hope For An Early Spring!
